Would You Buy a Car From This Man?
We think you might ... if you knew what he's doing to support US ski jumping! This is Dan Mattoon, former US Ski Team jumper, and owner of Prestige Auto in Eau Claire WI. Click the photo above to hear Dan's offer to buyers of new and used cars and trucks from his dealership!

Are there other businesses out there that might want to make similar offers to people who'd patronize them because they are willing to support the sport of ski jumping?

Trevor Edlund Flies 105M in Eau Claire Practice!
Event Coverage:   Leader-Telegram   WEAU-TV   Trevor video 100M+
St Paul's Trevor Edlund, age 11, coming off a strong performance last week on 70 meter hills in Chicago and Minneapolis, opened the eyes of observers at Eau Claire's Silvermine hill by flying about 105 meters (345 feet) in practice Friday Jan 30. Correcting our earlier report, Trevor had jumped at Silvermine last year, and also had some practice jumps on the 90 meter Olympic hill in Park City in the summer of 2007. With lower starting speeds in the official competition, he placed 6th on Friday and 8th on Saturday.

St Paul's Brian Wallace won Friday's Junior Class event with a long ride of 90 meters (295 feet), and teammate Christian Friberg was third. Edlund finished 6th, and although his first ride was a bit shorter, his second equalled Wallace's distance of 90 meters. On Saturday, Wallace was 6th, Edlund 8th, and Friberg 14th. Johnny Lyons was 4th both days in Class A. Russia's Petr Chaadaev set a new official hill record of 95 meters (312 feet) on Friday night.

In the unofficial long standing competition following Saturday's tournament, where skiers can take as much speed as they want, Lyons equalled the official record of 95 meters ... and finished second to Edlund, who flew 98 meters (322 feet). A big high-five to our St Paul jumpers for an exciting weekend in front of a big crowd in Eau Claire!  Official results ... Friday   Saturday ... Photos have been posted in our Photo Gallery (link at left).
