William "Bill" Mahre
Inducted 2 Nov 1990

Bill Mahre joined the St. Paul Ski Club in 1954. He has served as a member of the Board of directors since 1957 and was president of the club for three terms.

As co-chairman of he bingo operations, he has been responsible for the financial independence that has enabled the St. Paul ski Club to provide the outstanding nordic facilities located at he Carver’s Lake site.

Mahre was an active participant in the Central Division and the U.S. Ski Associations. In the past he has been an exemplary representative of the St. Paul Ski Club while serving as Secretary-Treasurer, and as Chairman of the U.S. Central Division Ski Jumping Committee. He has served as the Central Division representative on the National Ski Jumping Committee.

Mahre has served as a delegate to the USSA Olympic Committee and Chief of Start for the 1980 Winter Olympic Games held at Lake Placid, New York.

Mahre was active in the development of the Minnesota Holmenkollen Project from its inception and remained until the end.

He has continued to be an able and distinguished representative of the St. Paul Ski Club to the sport of ski jumping on a local, national and international level throughout the tenure of his membership.
